MND: Any Attempt to Contain or Block China is Doomed to Fail
1月29日下午，国防部举行例行记者会，国防部新闻局副局长、国防部新闻发言人蒋斌大校答记者问。
记者：据报道，美国防部发布2026年版“国防战略报告”，提出在亚太“以实力而非对抗”慑止中国，要与中国军队开展广泛交流，确保对华战略稳定，寻求“体面的和平”，同时在第一岛链构建拒止防御体系，确保地区军力平衡。请问对此有何评论？
Question: According to the 2026 National Defense Strategy released by the US Department of War, the US will deter China in the Asia-Pacific through strength, not confrontation, and seek a wider range of military-to-military communications with the PLA, so as to maintain strategic stability with China and allow for a decent peace. At the same time, the US will erect a strong denial defense along the First Island Chain to achieve a balance of military power in the region. May I have your comment on that?
蒋斌：青山遮不住，毕竟东流去。事实早已证明，任何遏制围堵中国的企图都不可能得逞，相互尊重、和平共处、合作共赢才是中美正确相处之道。中方愿同美方一道，推动中美关系稳定发展，同时坚定维护自身主权、安全、发展利益。希望美方树立客观理性对华认知，坚持不冲突不对抗的底线，停止渲染所谓“中国军事威胁”，停止煽动阵营对抗，停止在涉及中方核心利益的问题上说一套做一套，以实际行动推动两军关系健康稳定发展。
Jiang Bin: Just like the mountain can never stop a flowing river from merging into the sea, the tide of history is unstoppable. Facts have proven that any attempt to contain or block China is doomed to fail. Following the principle of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation is the right approach for China and the US to deal with each other. We are willing to work with the US side to promote steady development of bilateral relations. At the same time, we will resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty, security and development interests. We hope the US side can take an objective and rational perception of China, hold the bottom line of non-conflict and non-confrontation, stop hyping up the so-called China military threat, stop inciting bloc confrontation, stop saying one thing while doing the opposite on issues concerning China's core interests, and make concrete efforts to promote sound and steady development of the mil-to-mil relationship.
